Commercial Airline Flight Service at RDM Experiencing Interruptions Due to Air Quality Conditions

WHAT: Commercial flight service at Redmond Municipal Airport is experiencing interruptions.  Some flights have been cancelled due to current air quality conditions. Passengers encouraged to contact their air service providers prior to arriving at terminal.

BACKGROUND:                

Commercial airlines have cancelled or delayed some flights until air quality conditions improve in Redmond.  The current air quality conditions are at a level that is unsafe for airline employees to work outdoors.

Air quality in Central Oregon is worsening, registering 518 in Redmond at time of release, and forecasted to continue degrading through the weekend. (source EPA’s airnow.gov).

Redmond Municipal Airport officials encourage all airline passengers to check flight status before arriving at the terminal.
